We did not see Dr. Maxwell so can not speak to his skill as a dentist because his policy is to charge up front for the fist appointment until the insurance is settled. Also, he has to see you before you can schedule a cleaning to review your records. I have never been to a dentist that works this way. If we have current records from another dentist and have been to one regularly for years, why not just allow for a cleaning and a dentist check at the same appointment. With 5 people in my family, this is ridiculous and we have no time for this.
Wasn't even able to get into the door. I was told I had to pay $215 up-front even if I had insurance (which, I do) and that I will be "reimbursed" later with "services". No thank you!
I drove two hours to see Dr. Maxwell, because I trust him. He is ethical and very competent at what he does. His rate is reasonable. Quality works worth paying for. If you care about your teeth, you will spend the money to see him. His assistants and office stuff are all very professional. I'm sure they will file the insurance for you properly. I do not see he is short of patents. You will miss out if you do not see him. Dr. Maxwell was able to build up one of my teeth and put crown over it while other dentist said he must pull the tooth and do an implant later. My friend who referred me to Dr. Maxwell told me that the crown he did 20 years again is still in good shape. I'm glad I found Dr. Maxwell. I will come back for more dental work.
